Another huge thank you to those that turned up this afternoon and helped with the course setting... the same few that were there last week.
I have typed and deleted three articles tonight regarding the lack of members willingness to help within the Club. Apparently my approach has not been well received by some, so for that I must say, so be it.
My mother (who kicked me out of home when I bought a bike) has always said, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it", so tonight I am remembering her words as lots that I could say might be considered not "nice".
The article I wrote two weeks ago about the sprinklers had 361 "views" so you're out there reading this stuff. You're wanting to know what's going on but obviously not wanting to be involved in the going on...
I've had one email and two phone calls from my request for workers for this weekend and Kris has had about the same.
Julie has 6-8 workers on her list for the whole weekend in the canteen. Kris has about the same for scoring and I have five names for marshaling.

By now most of you juniors would have received a letter from Daniel at MNSW informing you of your qualification for the State Titles. Hastings Valley is hosting the 2nd round of this great event, and we would like to see as many of you out there as possible. Please note that to enter, you require a National Competition Licence. Things are starting to come together for the first round of the Australian Offroad Championship at our home track. We still need a few helpers in the canteen and backup lap scorers for Sunday. If you have never scored, or are not very confident, this is your chance to learn. As transponders are being used, the backup scoring is just that, backup. Thanks to the dozen or so that came out to the working bee this afternoon. After todays efforts we are looking in good shape if we continue to have the same support over the next week. Special thank you to Julie for feeding the troops once again.

At the last General meeting a motion was moved and passed regarding a new 'worker rule' for 2010.
After careful consideration it was considered the best of two options available to provide the best means for the Club to continue to move forward. The very nature of any Club results in varying levels of commitment from it's members. There are those willing to give above and beyond what would be expected, right through to those who only take what they can without contributing. I am not suggesting there is anyone within the HVMCC in the latter, but I will suggest there are some not far from it.
As I pointed out during riders briefing at the first MX round, we have a huge year in front of us. Apart from the Club events, this year we will be running, The Aussie Offroad, a National Open meeting two weeks before we host the State Titles in June, which is one month before we host Round 7 of the Aussie MX Championship. The opportunity that our Club has this year can not be over stated. We are in the box seat and through careful planning and the commitment of all of our members, the Club stands to benefit. Simple fact is we will make money and have a better facility as a result of our hard work if we work together and see this through.
